Chicken is quite a popular meat in the Philippines. Well, it definitely is here in Cebu. If you don’t believe me, just check out every fastfood chain in the city.

Case in point, do you know that among the most populated fastfood place in the city are the Kentucky Fried Chicken branches? I kid you not! And do you know why? ‘Coz they have the yummiest chicken sandwiches, chicken meals, and chicken snacks in the whole of Metro Cebu! That’s why! Not to mention, they have scrumptious fries , the chocolatiest brownies, and the most fruity milkshakes, too.

Here are the reasons why you should visit KFC every day. :P

Chicken Fillet Sandwich

A scrumptious slab of crunchy chicken with some lettuce, cheese, and mayo inside a bun sprinkled with cute sesame seeds. This is a deliciously filling and relatively cheap sandwich… and just under Php50. But don’t get too addicted to it. On the third consecutive day you’ve been munching on this, you’d suddenly realize it’s not that appetizing anymore and might have the urge to hurl.

 Zinger

Ginormous spicy chicken fillet, some lettuce, and mayo in between an equally ginormous bun.  This giant sandwich could tide you over for two meals. I kid you not! Eater that I am, I could barely finish a helping of this the last time I tried. So if you have a teeny tummy, or you want to, you might think twice before you order this.

Flavor Shots Meal

KFC has dubbed this “streetwise”, which I think is cute and funny. Don’t ask me why, I just do. Although, I partly understand the “wise” part, because you can get this for only Php50. A real bargain especially when you’re hungry but trying to make your limited budget last until the next salary. They’re just so yummy though that you feel teary-eyed when you find yourself craving for more but you only have one last tiny piece of chicken left.

Krushers

Absolutely addictive milkshakes that are so good, they could get you absolutely bloated before you know it. My favorite flavors are so popular though, that I usually just end up with Strawberry Lush. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still yummy. But I prefer to have Kookies N’ Kream or Mixed Berries over Strawberry Lush anytime.

Snackbox

A combo of delicious chicken and sinfully yummy fries that you can get for only Php50. I love both so much that they’re almost always not enough. You can also buy a helping of rice to go with this and get even more stuffed.

Salads

Great for those on a diet, or pseudo diet, because they’re full of fresh yummy greens and only small bits of chicken.  You can also  opt to leave the chicken bits on the plate if you’re really trying to be that true blue vegan. Although, it would be a tad difficult to pick out the cheese bits and scrape the dressing. So good luck with those.  :P

Cali Maki Twister

Yummy chicken fillet with mangoes, cucumber, and creamy sweet mayo wrapped in this delicious tortilla. One of the many ingenious, and absolutely less silly, inventions of this fastfood place.  One piece of advice though, be very careful when taking a bite… or you’ll end up with squished mayo and mango all over your cheeks and pieces of mayo-covered chicken on your lap.

Brownies

Among the chocolatiest squares of pastry on the planet, if you ask my opinion. The first time I tasted them, I couldn’t stop stuffing my face with it, and babbling about how I’m in love with a pastry, all at the same time.  But don’t leave it too long in room temperature though, for it melts like some Swiss chocolate in a kid’s warm hand.

Bucket of Fries

Scrumptiously mouthwatering potato slices covered in “I’ve-no-idea-what-but-still-sinfully-yummy” coat that comes in this amazing mini-bucket that just puts a big grin on my face. The cute bucket is such a sight for sore eyes ‘coz you get to gobble up as many of these taters as you want. But if you’re planning to eat dinner, you better steer clear… or you’ll end up ruining your appetite.

I can’t get enough of the dishes I’ve mentioned here that I’d gladly stay inside one of the KFC branches for as long as I live… or at least until they close for the day anyway… and as long as my wallet can spare the dough.

Obviously, I adore this fastfood place. :P
