I’ve always admired how local businesses could compete with international franchises… and Greenwich is just one such place.
They started out as this cute Filipino pizza place trying to compete with the big boys such as Shakey’s and Pizza Hut. They started out quite small and insignificant then. But they’ve surely come a long way and are quite popular now… and worthy of giving the “big boys” a run for their money. :P And they’re not all just pretty pictures and bluster, too. They really do have deliciously scrumptious food. Below are some personal favorites of mine and my friends.
7 Cheese Overload Pizza
This is one mega yummy pizza… that could get you drooling by the mere mention of its name. Seriously! And it smells quite devastatingly delectable to the nose, too! But if you’re lactose intolerant or in any way have an upset tummy, and you don’t wanna make it worse, try to stop yourself from grabbing a slice of this. Or rue the day you ever spied this on the menu.

Classic Hawaiian Pizza
Who knew pineapple chunks and ham slices could be such a delicious combo? And this one wouldn’t create as big a dent on your wallet as the other pizzas, too. So it’s doubly great. But don’t be deceived by its simple appearance. These edible could make you crave for a whole barkada size of it, if you’re not careful.
Garlic Stix
These ones have certainly undergone a makeover… a bit that I’m not so sure was for the best. Honestly, I like the old softer and fluffier garlic stix better than these thinner and harder-to-chew ones. But they still taste nice with pasta, especially for scraping those leftover sauce in the bowl.
Spaghetti Supreme
Personally, I’m not so fond of spaghetti. Well, not as fond as I am of macaroni and cheese anyway. Still, the noodles are firm and the sauce is all right. And if you’re really hungry, your palate wouldn’t notice it’s lack of a character at all. :P

Bacon Chicken Carbonara
I absolutely love this dish. Firm fettuccine drowned in creamy carbonara sauce with chunks of yummy chicken is what I call a perfect lunch. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to have this every day, which just makes me incredibly sad whenever I think about it.
Lasagna Supreme
Yummy lasagna sheets layered with beefy tomato sauce and covered with a healthy helping of delicious cheese and a sprinkling of what I think is parsley is surely nice for both the eyes and the palate. Too bad, I’m not too fond of beef… and thick lasagna sheets.

French Fries
I remember, this restaurant didn’t have fries before. But I sure am glad they deigned to add fries to their menu. These scrumptious strings are so incredibly yummy, sometimes I can hardly stop myself from shoving handfuls of these in my mouth.
Onion Rings
This is a bit of an acquired taste, according to my current lunchmates. In short, I’m the only one who goes gaga over these batter coated onion slices. I can survive on just these for lunch, if you ask me. But then, if you plan on having a date later that day–like maybe after work–you probably should make sure you have your toothbrush in your purse, before you decide to take a single bite of these yummy finger food.

Chicken Ala King
If you’re into rice, which most Asians are, this would be among the best choices in their menu. It is 72% rice, 15% chicken meat and vegetables, and 13% yummy melted cheese. And you can get this, already with a glass of coke, for just Php69. What’s more is that it doesn’t taste like some mediocre chicken and rice dish. It really is yummy. Amazing, I know!
Buko Pandan Pearl Cooler
I will not deny. I’ve been addicted to this stuff lately because I just can’t get over how uberly buko pandan it tastes. It’s like a drink and a dessert all at the same time, and I never miss ordering this whenever I visit this food place. But (and this is a big “BUT”), I’m not overly fond of the sago pearls. I’ve almost choked on these annoying thingies more than twice now. :(

Double Chocolate Dessert Cup
Of course, dessert should never be left out. This one is composed of a cake base with sweet cream in the middle, topped with chocolate flakes and marshmallows and a ring of sticky sweet choco syrup on the edges. Most probably though, it would give you a toothache just by looking at it.

Eating with friends is always great. You get to talk, catch up with what’s happening in each other’s lives, and complain about your slave driver bosses without worrying you’d get overheard and be fired before the day’s end. But being with great friends… and eating excellent food at the same time, will always top that. I just wish my salary could carry the weight of an everyday lunch or dinner at the mall. Sadly, it couldn’t. But hey, I guess the “rarity” factor makes the ocassion doubly nice, right?
