Cebu City’s South Road Properties is a real game-changer. Dubbed the next big thing, the South Road Properties (SRP) is set to attract the moneyed from the North to hopefully encourage them to invest in Cebu.

And true enough, the development plan for the SRP is nothing but spine-chillingly awesome! Here are 9 reasons why the South Road Properties is going to rock your world!

9. SRP Welcome Hill and Sign

The multi-million welcome hill bearing the giant hollywood sign-ish SOUTH ROAD PROPERTIES is expensive for a reason. According to sources, the tower just right beside the words will double as a water tower and a cafe/bar/restaurant. Now, imagine enjoying long talks over beer or coffee in that spot right there! Awesome!

8. Grand Mosque

Although Cebu is the cradle of Christianity, the city (and the entire province, for that matter) is open to all faiths. In fact, the Muslim community in Cebu actively participates in keeping the city peaceful and crime-free. Which is why the rumored construction of a Grand Mosque will be nothing but awesome. It is said that the mosque will be so grand that it just might become a new landmark in Cebu! How awesome is that?

7. UP SRP Campus

The government of the city of Cebu donated a parcel of land to the University of the Philippines. Currently, construction of the University of the Philippines SRP campus is ongoing. The campus will have multiple structures for school use, dormitories, and even a small commercial district. Awesome, right?

6. Citta Di Mare

FilInvest’s Citta di Mare is expected to take high-end living to the next level. The compound, which sits right at the heart of the SRP, will have amenities and services fit for the modern-day Cebuano. Construction of the 5-storey buildings is currently ongoing!

5. San Pedro Calungsod Templete

After the canonization of Cebu’s very own San Pedro Calungsod, the return of his image to Cebu is expected to draw devotees from all over the world. As a result, the Archdiocese of Cebu has decided to build a small templete at the SRP for the Thanksgiving Mass which will be held in November. Viva San Pedro Calungsod! Viva!

4. Shrine of Mary, Mother of God

The Shrine of Mary, Mother of God (will soon be renamed San Pedro Calungsod Church) is the church currently being constructed at the SM Seaside City compound. The church, which has a sleek and very modern design, is expected to open just in time for the Christmas celebrations this year. Are you excited?

3. Il Corso

Il Corso is the commercial and entertainment component of FilInvest’s Citta di Mare. The commercial district, which is set to change Cebu forever, will have a white-sand public beach, a replica of the galleon, a dock for yachts, a mall, and a park where Lapu-Lapu’s gigantic image will stand.

2. SM Seaside City

SM Seaside City is the name of SM’s boldest project yet. The mall will be very different from the other SM malls all over the country. It will be circular in shape and it will have a viewing tower right at the center. Aside from the mall, SM is also expected to build several BPO towers, hotels, a convention center, and even a hospital.

1. Bus Rapid Transit

The much-anticipated Bus Rapid Transit will soon be operational at the South Road Properties. The BRT will put Cebu on the world map and hopefully improve traffic conditions, lessen pollution, and just generally make Cebu City a more kick ass place to live in. Not to mention the buses are going to be awesome!

RUMORS:

Watersports Facility

Pond F will be turned into a huge water sports facility. Why not?

Theme Park

A very exciting theme park will be built at the Kawit Point. Bring it on!

Korean Development

A project by Korean developers will be constructed at the lot right beside the SM Seaside City compound. Wow!
